HARLEM
Langston Hughes was a poet, writer, and play writter. He became a crucial voice during the Harlem Renaissance. As in African American literary movement of the 1920s and 1930s, his work celebrates the lives of black people and spoke out against their struggles and injustices. Langston Hughes will foever be remembered for his most famous poem “Harlem” — which starts with the line “What happens to a dream deferred?”
